August in the Orange Region 

 And so we finally entered the last month of winter and the first signs of spring time starts to fill in some of the gaps in the Boissy Bed and Breakfast garden! The daffodils and snowdrops are coming out and very soon we will start to see the beautiful magnolia flowers throughout the streets of Orange. During these winter months we have all enjoyed  getting rugged up around our wood fire, sharing a bottle of red or port with some of our favourite friends and guests.Daffodils Boissy

Needless to say, we have also spent wonderful times at some at some of our favourite local Orange cellar doors and restaurants, like De Salis, Word of Mouth, Brangayne, Charred and Fiorini’s.

We are almost ready for the next Orange Wine Festival, promising two weeks of events and activities highlighting the region’s premium wines. Come and join us for a plethora of events to keep wine connoisseurs and aficionados entertained, and celebrate our great local produce.

Orange is being hailed as the new Bordeaux of NSW – the wine area on everyone’s lips! Great reward for our very passionate local winemakers, only rivaled by restaurants that can compete with the finest in our largest capital cities.

At Boissy’s bedwithbreakfast we are delighted that it is once again time for the annual Orange Wine Festival 13-22 October 2017!

We take great pride in our region’s opportunity to celebrate the thriving local wine industry and high-quality cool climate wines that are produced in our region. This year the program includes over 90 events like old  favourites such as the Orange Wine Show Tasting, Wine in the Vines, The Vino Express and the Festival Night Market.

Orange Wine Show Tasting & Masterclass

Friday October 13

During this special tasting, all the wines entered in the Orange Wine Show, including the trophy and medal winning wines, will be available for you to taste and judge. Generous platters of delicious local produce are available for you to sample.

The masterclasses are hosted by Will Rickard-Bell a local winemaker.  This Masterclass will introduce you to the colour, aroma, taste and regional characteristics of Orange wines, and you will leave with a thorough understanding of why the Orange Region is so special and now being referred to as the Bordeaux of NSW!

A very popular family affair not to be missed. A very large number of stalls offering award winning wines from the Orange Wine Region and recent wine show. Accomplished chefs produce excellent local fair and often pair these with local wines.

It is set in the stunning  Robertson Park, where local artists will entertain you and the family. Relax at long communal tables. And it is a family affair! Children’s catering and activities are available on site.

Orange F.O.O.D. Week 2017

It is once again time for the Orange food week!

This year it will be held from 31st March until 9th April. The objective of this festival is to promote the diverse and exceptional regional produce from Orange and surrounding districts. There are several signature events which will appeal to local residents as well as visitors. These will be hosted by local restaurants, wineries and café’s. It is one of those not to be missed events and will leave you grasping for more! The festival will kick off with the Night Market on 31st March. During this event there will be more than 50 stalls representing local chefs, cooks, caterers and winemakers. Communal dining tables and festive music will make this a night to remember.

During the run of the festival, you can also meet volunteers, various producers and chefs at F.O.O.D. HQ and taste some of their specialities, as well as purchase products directly from them. One of the highlights of this festival, is the 100 Mile Dinner event. It will showcase food from Molong, Mudgee, Cowra, Orange and several of the other local districts. Another exciting event is the Food Train which will have you starting with a light breakfast on board, with explanations from local producers on their methods for getting food from paddock to plate. This event will include a fine dining experience, as well as the FORAGE event on Saturday.

There will also be exciting produce markets that will provide cooking demos by some of Orange’s up-and-coming young chefs. Local produce will be up for sale to take home and to be enjoyed at your leisure.
